I feel like it was wasted effort though, as this film really is nothing different. Friends on vacation go to a unique location and run into something supernatural that tries to kill them, it's been done over and over again.
The unique location made for a great start to something, unfortunately the writers didn't know what to do with that, and the result is another ordinary film that gets an average rating.

Yes some of the cast are douche's and some scenes could have been slightly better but all in all for an under the radar low budget horror film I'd say this ranks quite highly.
How people can say Paranormal Activity is better is beyond me, 2 very differing subject matters but for atmosphere, setting and something slightly different, this film is a good little flick!
For a film with radioactive bears running around, it's often strangely dull, though the final descent into the concrete maw of the reactor itself is memorably hellish.
Nothing innovative, but a decent little effort in the urban exploration corner of horror, using some tragic history as a modern Gothic setup.
Report abuse. OK so it's made on a Blair Witch kind of thing which I very much disliked but this was better and food for thought.
The eerieness of being in Chernobyl where the workers lived in the high rised flats and the ferris wheel with the kids toys on the radiation soaked ground is eerie enough and the wild dogs that roam the place at night which isn't fiction all added to the atmosphere.
The unknown actors did a good enough job and yes I enjoyed it, I thought I wouldn't. Better than a lot of films out there. It was just worth it for the end credits to roll to the tune of Marilyn Mason who I like.
