I was really scared of this movie when I was a young kid, but as I grew up, I began to see the beautiful aspects of this movie. Jim Henson has already been one of the really great and he really shows that in this movie.

Jennifer Connelly is very good in the movie but the person who really steals the entire movie is David Bowie as the Goblin King. This guy was not only one of the greatest musicians ever, but he was also one of the greatest actors on the big screen and he will definitely be missed.

She is hiding behind a hedge. When she picks the second stone, she steps back behind the hedge, but after a cut she stands in front of it and throws the stone.

I'm altogether disappointed in the myriad "reviews" I've read that turn out to be copied press releases rather than reviews, and fail to mention the poor video quality.

At eight to ten feet, the noise is not so distracting. My review largely reflects my own impression of the visual quality of the various retail releases.

Regardless of what I've argued, the film itself is a classic, great for kids and kids at heart.

Just don't get too close to your screen when you watch it. Great movie, but don't waste your money on the 4K version, as it is no better than the standard Buray.

The 4K version is a rip off. They shouldn't charge you more for not getting true 4K quality. Studios should be ashamed to advertise a higher quality that isn't delivered.

This film is a true classic; I loved it as a pre-teen, still loved it years later as a young adult, and today have chosen it to show to both my children and my English classes.

There is something both whimsical and moving about the combination of Bowie, muppets, and a fairy-tale story that never loses its appeal.

It is a perfect fit for my unit on archetypes with a female hero, no less , and my son at 5 used to ask "Can we watch the movie about the goblin king?

This story follows Sarah who has an active imagination and is quite a dreamer. When she makes a wish for the goblins to carry her baby brother away, she realizes just how vivid her imagination is and goes on a journey to rescue him that leads her through many perils full of interesting characters.

David Bowie plays the character of Jareth easily and comfortably as if it's no act. The music is all Bowie, the muppets are all Jim Henson and together it's a magical journey well worth the few dollars spent.

I'm glad I did. I've recently become quite obsessed with this film. It was one of those films "I'd get around to", but I didn't get around to it until about two months ago.

I had no idea what to expect. Labyrinth easily charmed me. It was almost like going through a dream, or the kind of play-acting I once did when I was younger.

It just had an air of childhood innocence and imagination. Also, let's be honest: David Bowie hanging about with Muppet goblins and singing about magic spells needs to be preserved for all of history.

The songs fit the precise mood needed for the film, and all the main characters bring something to the story. I'd definitely recommend this film to a friend.

Basically we have wasted the best part of 20 pounds we turned the film off after 20 mins due to the poor picture quality.

Going forwards we will ensure we only purchase films in 4k that have been pruduced more recently. Film remains one of our favourites hence 3 stars given.

Toby won't stop crying, she wishes out loud that the goblins would take him away Jareth the Goblin-King appears, telling her she has 13 hours to find her way through the labyrinth to his castle to rescue Toby, or, he is gone forever.

The Labyrinth seems never-ending, she'll need help if she is to reach the castle in time. She meets a dwarf called Hoggle and asks for his help, she offers a gift for him to do so.

Hoggle actually fears the Goblin King and is worried about the help he's giving. Jareth has a few nasty delaying surprises awaiting them.

The film didn't do well at the box-office in truth, think perhaps too weird. The 4k upgrade is a bit hit and miss in truth, much of the film somewhat grainy, okay in part.

Think perhaps for a good 4k experience one has to stick to the newer releases that perhaps have much CGI and action-sequences to admire.

This film in truth is of limited appeal despite the legendry David Bowie strutting out a few songs. Report abuse. Loved this film since I was a child so when they released it on blue ray I had to buy a copy.

It's a classic Jim Henson's 80's film, they just don't make them like this anymore! David Bowie is great in this film and the songs he sings in it are also some of my favourites that he did, including "As the world falls down" and "Within you" All my children who have watched it, now love it just as much as I did when I was a child and now as an adult lol If you have never watched it then definately do!

It's a magical film in a magical labyrinth ;. Terrible transfer to 4K, grainy as hell, stick with your bluray. A waste of money.

As a massive fan of the film I'd read mixed reviews of the 4k version. The opening scenes with skies are very noisy but it definitely settles down into the film.

Once settled it totally transforms the film. Colours and shimmers in clothing that just weren't there in the blu ray version.

Definitely a must for fans. I would recommend calibrating your TV from factory settings to get the best of 4k viewing though.

I can't believe they still recognize me from that movie. It's on TV all the time and I guess I pretty much look the same.
