Now I agree that it would be nice to see Gotenks fight, but according to the narrative of the show, the kids are too childish and inexperienced to bring to the boss battles.

He knows he will always be there to fight the next big threat. He has devoted his life to fighting strong opponents.

Goku and Vegeta would never let someone else fight the main villain. The Z warriors just gotta get in where they fit in. That makes NO sense. He didn't know how Gohan really was, and how he doesn't have a warriors heart like Goku.

Hidden power, it didn't matter to Goku if Gohan liked it or not. He made sure to have Gohan go into the fray. In the Buu arc, regardless if he is dead or alive his "Saiyan blood" shouldn't have allowed him to then throw a villain to the youngest Saiyans.

Yet he did. Even praising Goku for it. It doesn't matter how you slice it, this is piss poor writing, 2 warriors that do actually train are tossed aside as if they ain't shit.

And that's obviously to allow Tien, Krillin, Roshi and Yamcha to participate. However, we're removing 2 of the strongest warriors the series has ever known.

Golden Frieza fight was really hype to me - I know I'm rare in that aspect - but seeing all the Z fighters whoop ass beforehand really helper put in to perspective just how bad ass the upper tier characters are.

Seeing Earth turn into a warzone while everyone makes a stand is awesome. Piccolo Gohan and android team up is gonna be sick. Krillin doing work is gonna be sick.

Yamcha getting to fight instead of being a gag character is awesome. Tien and mr. Roshi doing work is gonna be wild.

They're setting the stage for an ultimate showdown. This is up there with the ToP. Who knows what could actually happen. Goku could master UI.

Vegets could get the win with his new technique. Gohan might break new ground and get it - hell, Roshi might mafuba Moro and fuckin die.

That mentality is exactly why the Earth characters got side lined in the first place because everyone just cared about the saiyans and eventually just Goku and Vegeta.

This is Dragon Ball at its best, utilizing a large cast and wide range of characters. Yeah that works in other anime where characters actually have diff abilities and skills but this is dragon ball.

Then you evidently never saw original dragon ball. Wolf Fang Fist, Dodon Ray, Transformation are just an example of a few abilities that were relatively signature to specific characters.

Not only that but World Tournament Sagas, Baba Saga, King Piccolo saga, these sagas had a lot of the old school cast fighting against smaller villains other than the main antagonist.

Fuck even early Z had Krillin and Gohan fighting against the likes of Guldo on Namek or a combined effort versus Nappa in the Saiyan saga.

Dragon ball was originally about a cast of characters fighting to save the earth or fighting for glory but as it got further on it became more about Goku and Vegeta and the cast of interesting characters got sidelined.

It became boring because the only thing to look forward to was Goku and Vegeta getting a new hairstyle.

I for one was excited when Krillin revealed Solar Flare x in Super and I felt the TOP was a great way to start reintroducing these long since dead characters.

Yamcha was a dude who wanted to become more confident around women and be a better fighter and there are many times in the original dragon ball that he had that chance and even went for it.

Z turned him into a gag character that smeared the development he'd gained over episodes down the drain for the sake of a few chuckles and a meme.

Roshi was the strongest fighter around until he was forgotten about too. In fact many interesting characters were dropped not because they weren't interesting but because Toriyama was shit at managing long term story and development.

Your comments sound like someone who either only watched Z as a kid, only just got into Dragon Ball in general in the last few years or just started with Super, because Dragon Ball was originally about a good cast of characters getting their time to shine and I for one am interested and excited to see it return to it's roots.

Goku and Vegeta get their time in the sun all the time, they've had it for the last years, it's time to give some of it back to those who stood in the sun long ago.

Is it just me or it feels like there's no tension or gravity to the current situation in the manga Moros on the way. This feels like Namek just about when Freeza shows up after the Elder dies.

Unfortunately that's due to it being monthly manga. There is no time to sit and take in the dread. For all the praise this arc gets. Everything is still moving super quick.

And as much as I love Beerus and Whis, knowing there will always be a person stronger than the antagonist takes away some of the stakes.

I'm enjoying the Moro arc but it's really just Resurrection F but done a bit better. Well the writer kinda wrote himself in a loop In fact several characters became redundant since the buu saga itself.

Honestly I'm a big fan of the pacing. You can tell that Toyo is really enjoying doing this without the constraints of the anime. Then again, I really like the arc so it lets me savour it, but if you don't like the arc itself then I get why it would be difficult.

I think the chapters being monthly also doesn't help - this would be a decent pace for a bimonthly series, but waiting a month for each chapter means it does 'drag' in real-time as well.

We should be getting to the main fight in the next chapters though. I love the arc. Its already one of my favourites.

No it isnt. This is the best arc hands down. It doesn't look like it will be a case of grrr power up. Vegeta might actually be the deciding factor, we might lose Merus or Whis, fighters not named Goku, Vegeta and Gohan are getting time to shine.
