The film has little to recommend it and it's a shame when you consider the cast. The pacing is very slow and at times, needlessly tiresome.

The filmmaker struggles with story beats and the overall plot has so many holes it's tough to watch. Butler is serviceable and is quite good in the thankless lead role.

If Butler wasn't so watchable he would've fallen to VOD years ago. Oldman phones his performance in and it's odd seeing a gifted actor take on a one dimensional role.

I had expected this might be a guilty pleasure but that wasn't the case. Flawed and not a very good thriller. This was the first and so far only intentional sinking of a submerged submarine by a submerged submarine.

It's made to sound good. It's all flash and dash and utterly unbelievable. But sometimes the point of watching something like this is not to be distracted by what is believable.
